Our Team

Liz is the founder and owner of The Children’s Room. She was born and brought up in Swansea and after spending eighteen years away returned with her husband and son.

She trained at the Montessori Centre in London twenty four years ago and has worked in schools in London and the Far East. While living in Singapore she worked in a multicultural school for two years.

Liz says:

“It was my ambition to bring Montessori to Wales. And now with the new Baby Room, and holiday opening hours we really are becoming established and part of Swansea parents lives”.

Sharon is a highly experienced manager with almost 30 years in childcare. She is level 5 qualified. As a mum of two and having worked in both public and private nurseries she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team.

She is motivated and strives to ensure our high standards are maintained and that The Childrens Room is a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for all children. Warm and caring, Sharon has a good understanding about attachment and knows how difficult it can be for parents to leave their children. She endeavours to make this process as comfortable as possible and is always around to support families should they need advice.

Anne is our financial administrator and usually in the office, however she does love to pop into the classes to see the children who adore her!

Binder provides a vital part of our school collection
service and is a lunchtime supervisor. The children
absolutely love her calm and cheery personality.

Emma

Emma has been with us in the Children’s Room for over 8 years and is a qualified NNEB with over 20 years’ experience with children including time spent working in Australia. Emma’s principle focus is with the children on the Rupert Floor.

In her spare time Emma loves to swim and practice yoga when time allows as a mother of 4 children.

Caroline

Caroline has worked in childcare for almost 30 years. She has a National Diploma in Nursery Nursing, is a qualified thrive and nurture practitioner and a fluent Welsh speaker.

Caroline has helped support children within
mainstream primary schools for 12 years and has also been a support worker in a family Centre.
Both at nursery and at home Caroline is a keen
gardener with a great love of the outdoors. When she isn’t at nursery, Caroline loves to travel around the UK in her campervan.

Rebecca

Rebecca has an undergraduate degree in childhood studies and a master’s degree in developmental and therapeutic play.

Her passion for development through play is perfect for her role on Nursery floor.

In her spare time, Becky enjoys music, baking, and walking.

Anna

Anna has been part of the nursery team for 8 years. She is creative and loves art and craft.

She is also passionate about music and reading with children. When she is not at nursery, Anna helps in Dylans cafe in Cwmdonkin park

Sindi

Sindi joined the team in November 2021. She is currently undertaking a level 3 qualification in
childcare, learning and development.

When she is not at nursery Sindi loves exploring nature with her twin children, reading and cookery.

Victoria

Vicky has been part of the team since 2017.
She is soon due to complete level 4 childcare, learning and development. Vicky is passionate about Montessori, outdoor learning, and education.

In her free time, she loves working with her husband and 4 children on the family farm.

Ayesha

Ayesha has been at The Childrens Room since the beginning of 2022.

Currently working towards completing a level 3 in Childcare, learning and development, Ayesha loves unleashing her creativity with the children though art and sparking their imaginations through fun and interactive activities.

In her free time Ayesha loves spending time with her family and friends

Methma

Methma is a Montessori educator with over three years of enriching experience in Early Childhood Education. Holding a bachelor’s degree in the field and currently pursuing a master’s in childhood studies.

Beyond the classroom, Methma is a PADI certified scuba diver. With a love for the great outdoors, she is often be found hiking, dancing, exploring, and camping.

Lauren

Lauren has been at The Childrens Room since July 2021 when she was studying for her degree in BSc (hons) education, psychology, and special educational needs.

After graduating, she now works full time at nursery while undertaking a level 3 in Childrens care, play, learning and development.

In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family, walking her dogs on the beautiful local beaches and traveling.

Luke

Luke joined The Childrens Room while studying for his A levels and enjoyed it so much he is still here!

He is currently studying social work at Cardiff
University.

Luke is enthusiastic about children’s wellbeing and development and is a fantastic support for the children at nursery with ALN.

In his spare time Luke enjoys travelling, reading and sport.

Zahra

Zahra first came to nursery in 2015 as a student and we were absolutely thrilled when she returned at the beginning of 2023 to rejoin the team.

She is qualified in level 3 Children’s care, learning and development and has a degree in Health and Social care (BSc) from Swansea University.

Zahra works on both Tess and Rupert floor. In her free time Zahra loves playing tennis

Lucy

Lucy is a qualified childcare worker who has been part of the Children’s Room team for 10 years. Based on the Rupert Floor she brings a wealth of experience having spent over 20 years working as a nanny, childminder and in other nursery settings as well as being a mother of 3 children.

Rachel

Rachel has 20 years of experience within the childcare arena having gained her diploma in Childcare and Education in 2002. Since then, she has worked in both local schools and private day care settings and in 2010 graduated from the University of Glamorgan with an upper-class degree in Childhood Studies.

Outside of nursery, Rachel enjoys spending time with her 3 very busy boys.

Rosie

Rosie joined the team in 2016 and has worked on all
floors. She is now based on our baby floor and has a real passion for sensorial learning. In her free time Rosie loves keeping fit

Amy

Amy became part of the team in 2013 whilst studying for her BSc in Children and Young People. Amy loves supporting new families in settling in at nursery ensuring they feel confident in leaving their little ones.

She gets excited about planning activities and outings and can often be spotted in Brynmill park feeding the ducks with the babies.

Katelyn

Katelyn is qualified in level 3 in childcare (CACHE) and level 3 play worker. She enjoys messy play with the children and seeing their development grow. In her spare time, she enjoys keeping fit. She has recently become a mum and is currently on maternity leave.
