Liz Byatt

Liz is the founder and owner of The Children's Room.  She was born, brought up and educated in Swansea, South Wales. She moved to London at 19, and worked in a variety of customer facing roles from hotel management at the Waldorf Hotel, Covent Garden to personnel functions within software companies and barristers' chambers. During this time she became interested in the Montessori method of nursery education and spent two years at night school obtaining her Teaching Diploma.

In 1996, Liz moved with her husband to the Far East where they lived in Bangkok, Hong Kong and Singapore over a seven year period. During this time she taught in an international Montessori school and also spent some time working with special needs children.  In September 2004 they decided to return to the UK with their son Morgan and make their home in Swansea.

In September 2007, her dream of opening South Wales’ first Montessori school in her home city became a reality. The Montessori method of education is one of the fastest growing and popular methods in use today. There are many examples of successful operations around the UK and the world providing the type of environment and facilities that parents want to allow their children the right type of start in life.
